The Waterfront team was delighted to attend the design selection event for The Great Tail Trail at AFC Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium earlier this month. This milestone marks an exciting step forward for the much-anticipated public art trail, which will see 45 giant mermaid tail sculptures showcased across Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole next spring in support of Julia’s House children’s hospice charity.
After reviewing nearly 500 submissions from talented artists, we were thrilled to select the design that will represent The Waterfront during the trail. The creativity and craftsmanship on display were truly inspiring, and we are immensely proud of the design we’ve chosen. It beautifully reflects the vibrant coastal spirit of Poole and our vision for The Waterfront community.
We can’t wait to see our chosen artist bring their design to life over the coming months. With just a few months to go until the sculptures are unveiled to the public on April 5, 2025, the anticipation is building.
Looking Ahead to the Trail
The Great Tail Trail promises to be a highlight of the year, bringing joy to locals and visitors while raising vital funds for Julia’s House. We’re honoured to be part of this creative initiative, which aligns perfectly with our commitment to supporting the local community.
